Course Introduction

Scaffolding is a critical component in construction, maintenance, and industrial operations—but improper erection, use, or dismantling can result in serious safety hazards. Scaffolding erectors must be trained not only in assembly techniques but also in the safety standards, load capacity, and hazard identification required to protect workers and maintain structural integrity.

This practical 3-day training provides participants with the essential knowledge and skills to safely erect, inspect, and dismantle scaffolding structures. The course covers technical principles, international standards, and site-specific safety procedures, making it ideal for new and experienced erectors alike.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
• Understand the components, types, and configurations of scaffolding systems
• Apply correct procedures for safe scaffolding erection and dismantling
• Comply with relevant safety standards, regulations, and load requirements
• Identify hazards related to scaffolding setup and site conditions
• Conduct basic inspections to ensure scaffolding integrity and worker safety

Key Benefits of Attending

• Learn best practices for scaffolding safety, erection, and use
• Prevent workplace incidents through proper load management and access planning
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, BS EN, and other international standards
• Gain practical insights into anchoring, bracing, and stability requirements
• Build a strong foundation in safe working at height protocols

Intended Audience

This program is designed for:
• Scaffolding erectors, installers, and assistants
• Site supervisors and safety officers
• Maintenance and construction personnel
• HSE professionals and compliance inspectors
• Contractors and workers involved in elevated work platforms

Individual Benefits

Key competencies that will be developed include:
• Scaffold design understanding and erection techniques
• Safety awareness and hazard recognition at heights
• Compliance with safe work procedures and standards
• Inspection and tagging practices for daily safety checks
• Use of PPE and fall protection systems

Organization Benefits

Upon completing the training course, participants will demonstrate:
• Reduced incidents and near misses related to scaffold collapse or misuse
• Higher compliance with international scaffolding safety regulations
• Improved job site productivity through efficient scaffold planning and erection
• Enhanced worker morale and safety culture on site
• Greater readiness for audits, inspections, and project certifications

Instructional Methdology

The course follows a blended learning approach combining theory with practice:
Strategy Briefings – Key scaffolding design principles, safety codes, and regulations
Case Studies – Real-life incidents and lessons learned from scaffold failures
Workshops – Scaffold component identification, load calculations, and site risk assessments
Peer Exchange – Discussions on scaffolding challenges across different projects
Tools – Checklists for inspection, stability planning, and fall protection setup
