Course Introduction
The improper storage and handling of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) pose serious safety, environmental, and legal risks. Managing such materials demands precise inventory control, regulatory awareness, and robust operational practices to prevent accidents and ensure compliance.
This intensive 2-day course equips participants with practical skills for handling, storing, tracking, and auditing hazardous substances. Participants will learn to manage inventories using proper classification, labelling, segregation, and control strategies in alignment with international standards such as OSHA, GHS, and ISO.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
• Identify, classify, and label hazardous materials using GHS and other frameworks
• Understand legal requirements for HAZMAT storage, segregation, and documentation
• Apply inventory management practices specific to hazardous substances
• Implement control measures for risk mitigation and emergency response
• Maintain accurate records and conduct compliant audits of HAZMAT inventories
Key Benefits of Attending
• Learn how to store and manage chemicals and hazardous goods safely
• Improve workplace safety by reducing inventory-related HAZMAT risks
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, GHS, local, and international regulations
• Minimize loss, leakage, or cross-contamination risks in storerooms
• Gain practical tools for audits, MSDS tracking, and emergency planning
