Course Introduction

Confined spaces pose significant hazards, including toxic atmospheres, restricted access, and limited ventilation. This comprehensive 5-day course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely enter, work in, and exit confined spaces, while ensuring full compliance with international health and safety standards. It includes hands-on training with gas detectors, PPE, entry permits, emergency equipment, and rescue procedures.

Course Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand definitions, types, and hazards of confined spaces

  • Conduct hazard assessments and atmospheric monitoring

  • Complete and follow confined space entry permits

  • Apply safe entry, work, and exit procedures

  • Select and use appropriate PPE and respiratory protection

  • Perform emergency response and rescue protocols

Key Benefits of Attending

Confined space entry is one of the most dangerous activities in many industries. This course provides essential, life-saving knowledge and skills that ensure worker safety, legal compliance, and operational continuity.

Intended Audience

  • Maintenance and Operations Personnel

  • Safety Officers and ERT Members

  • Plant Engineers and Technicians

  • Utility and Oil & Gas Field Workers

  • Any personnel required to enter or manage confined space activities

Individual Benefits

  • Gain hands-on certification in confined space entry

  • Learn how to identify and control confined space hazards

  • Increase safety awareness and confidence in high-risk environments

  • Comply with OSHA/NEBOSH/ISO safety regulations

Organization Benefits

  • Ensure compliance with local and international safety laws

  • Reduce incidents and near-misses related to confined spaces

  • Improve risk management and safety culture

  • Demonstrate duty of care to staff and regulators

Instructional Methdology

  • Theory sessions with multimedia presentations

  • Equipment demonstrations (tripods, gas monitors, SCBA)

  • Practical simulations in confined space mock-ups

  • Emergency drills and rescue planning

  • Permit writing exercises and scenario-based assessments
