Course Introduction
The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code provides the mandatory framework for safe transportation and storage of hazardous goods by sea. Non-compliance can lead to severe safety risks, financial penalties, and environmental damage. It is essential for logistics, warehouse, and port personnel to be thoroughly trained in the principles and procedures of storing and handling dangerous goods.
This intensive 2-day course delivers practical training on the classification, labeling, storage, and segregation of dangerous goods in accordance with the IMDG Code. Participants will gain the knowledge and tools needed to ensure regulatory compliance, protect personnel, and maintain safe storage environments in container terminals, ports, and inland depots.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
• Understand the structure, scope, and legal status of the IMDG Code
• Identify and classify dangerous goods and their transport requirements
• Apply correct procedures for packaging, labeling, and documentation
• Plan safe storage and segregation of containers carrying hazardous cargo
• Mitigate risks and respond to incidents involving dangerous goods
Key Benefits of Attending
