Day 1: Core Paediatric Life Support Skills
Module 1: Introduction to Paediatric First Aid (07:30 – 09:30)

• Scene assessment, safety, and casualty overview
• Legal responsibilities and parental communication

Module 2: Paediatric CPR and AED Use (09:45 – 11:15)
• Child and infant resuscitation techniques
• Practical use of AED devices
• Managing unconscious casualties

Module 3: Choking, Recovery Position, and Breathing Issues (11:30 – 01:00)
• Obstructed airway management in infants and children
• Recovery position and breathing assessment
• Asthma, allergic reactions, and anaphylaxis

Module 4: Workshop – Live Demonstration Practice (02:00 – 03:30)
• CPR, AED, and recovery practice with dummies
• Peer coaching and instructor feedback

Day 2: Injuries, Illnesses, and Incident Handling
Module 5: Treating Wounds and Bleeding (07:30 – 09:30)
• Nosebleeds, grazes, deep cuts
• Bandaging techniques and infection prevention
• Shock recognition and management

Module 6: Burns, Fractures, and Head Injuries (09:45 – 11:15)
• Heat and chemical burns
• Sprains, dislocations, and fractures
• Concussion and spinal precautions

Module 7: Managing Illness and Medical Conditions (11:30 – 01:00)
• Epilepsy, febrile seizures, diabetes
• Recognizing meningitis and sepsis
• Temperature control and hydration issues

Module 8: Final Assessment & Roleplay (02:00 – 03:30)
• Simulated paediatric first aid scenarios

Certification

Participants will receive a NUCO Accredited Certificate in Paediatric First Aid, valid for 3 years. This certificate confirms their ability to deliver competent and compliant emergency care to children and infants in accordance with UK paediatric first aid standards.
