Job Hazard Analysis

Category: Job Hazard Analysis

Course Description

This program will help you to understand what job hazard analysis (JHA) is and it offers guidelines for performing a job hazard analysis (JHA) in a variety of industrial workplaces. Based on industry best practices and OSHA guidelines, this program offers insights into why a JHA is a critical part of any safety program.

A job hazard analysis is a method to identify existing and/or potential hazards of a job. Each task undergoing a JHA will be studied and each step of the job recorded, so that the entire job process is considered. It focuses on the relationship between the worker, the task, the tools and the work environment. After you identify hazards, you need to take steps to eliminate or reduce them to an acceptable risk level.

Many workers are injured and killed at the workplace every day. Safety and health can add value to your business, your job, and your life. You can help prevent workplace injuries and illnesses by looking at your workplace operations, establishing safe job procedures, and ensuring that all employees are trained properly.
